My obssession with velvet continues
I've been thinking about my assignment some more and I've bought some red velvet which I'll bind the book with. It was only £4 for over a metre so good deal. I don't really want to spend too much on it in case Jo doesn't like the idea and i have to go back to the drawing book. But if I do get the go ahead these are the sort of lovely things I'd like to decorate my book with...

Assingment ideas
So I've had some ideas for the individual assignment. I was thinking film making at first as it worked so well for my agency. I wanted to make it personal and was considering creating a trailer or something. Then I thought about what I like the most. Before Uni I was torn between studying something to do with art or something to do with literature. I of course eventually decided on Advertising as it is actually quite a good combination of the two; words and image. At college I did a lot of practical craft work which I'd really like to delve back into for this project. Taking all this into consideration my main idea now is to create a storybook. I would write the words myself and draw the pictures myself. I could even bind the book myself and make the story in it really personal. I've thought about the story being of a princess (which would be me). She would be born into the Kingdom of Adtovia but then kidnapped as a baby and brought up in a dark kingdom. The story would be about her trying to get back to the place she came from. It's in the early stages at the moment but I like where it is going. I've collected some images as a sort of brainstorm for my idea and I really want to use some of the stylization in some of these images in my own drawings.

Presentation day!
So today was the day we've all been waiting for. The day of the final launch presentations. Luckily we were up second so didn't have to sit through presentation after presentation slowly becoming more nervous, like what happened at the One club. We were brave enough to wear our costumes again, this time in front of the whole year, all of my tutors and some guest judges. We handed out cakes and flyers like the one below and of course showed the video which luckily everyone loved. Almost every group had a great presentation and the whole day was really entertaining. It was nice to feel the relief of finally presenting our agency and to top it all off we came joined third! Go Antoinette! Wow that sounded sad.
So now I'm looking forward to Christmas and New years. Over the holidays we've got to think about our next assignment; launching ourselves. We've got to create an artifact of some kind which shows who we are and what our talents are. I'll be keeping up this blog to help me track this project to. Happy Christmas everyone!

Making the film
In the last post I wrote that our final choice of song would be Stripper by Soho Dolls, but after filming on Thursday and Friday we decided that the song Raise your glass by P!nk would work much better with the footage.
So yeah Thursday and Friday was fun, running around Oxford Street in freezing temperatures in our little Marie Antoinette outfits. And then Friday we had the cake fight meaning I had to go home with cake and icing in my hair. Oh the joys of University.
So here is the final video, we're really happy with it, hope you like it
